June is the xx Month
Every 4 ½ minutes, a baby is born with a birth defect in the United States. We know that not all birth defects can be prevented. But, we also know that women can increase their chances of having a healthy baby by managing health conditions and adopting healthy behaviors before becoming pregnant.
In recognition of January as National Birth Defects Prevention Month - 2016, SaludHEALTHinfo is joining the National Birth Defects Prevention Network (NBDPN), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the WIC San Ysidro Health Center and is encouraging healthcare professionals, educators, social service professionals, and the general public to support this effort. |

Folic Acid Awareness Week!
|
|
Folic acid is B vitamin that every cell in your body needs for normal growth and development. If women of childbearing age take 400 micrograms of folic acid every day before and during early pregnancy, it can help reduce their baby’s risk for birth defects of the brain and spine called neural tube defects (NTDs). The neural tube is the part of a developing baby that becomes the brain and spinal cord. An NTD can happen when the neural tube doesn’t close completely.
About 3,000 pregnancies are affected by NTDs each year in the United States. If all women take 400 micrograms of folic acid every day before getting pregnant and during early pregnancy, it may help reduce the number of pregnancies affected by NTDs by up to 70 percent. Some studies show that folic acid also may help prevent heart defects in a baby and birth defects in a baby’s mouth called cleft lip and palate. |

Mission Impossible. These highly trained operqatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with disavowed Brittish agent Ilsa Faust, who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.
Sure, you’ll lose count of the “well, that’s not very realistic” moments, but that’s never mattered in a Mission: Impossible film and it certainly doesn’t in this one. We’re not here for the science. It’s the suspense and excitement of a summer action thriller with as much brains as brawn that brought us. And this one delivers exactly what we wanted.

Max Best Friend. Hero Marine. Max is a Belgian Malinois, the breed of choice to serve as America’s MWDs. He’s a precision-trained military dog serving on the frontline in Afghanistan alongside his handler, U.S. Marine Kyle Wincott (Robbie Amell). During maneuvers, things go horribly awry, leaving Kyle dead and Max traumatized by the loss of his best friend. Shipped stateside, the only human seems willing to connect be Justin's only chance to discover what really happened to his brother that day on the front.
It’s clear that writer/director Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans) loves animals, and with Max, sets out to honor the legacy of our canine heroes.
